Grading log footage usually means a stack of LUTs, a node tree or a round trip to another app. The Color System does it inside Final Cut Pro, in one effect, in four steps:

• Input. Choose your camera's log profile.
• Technical. Set white balance in Kelvin, exposure, contrast and saturation before the look goes on.
• Look. Choose from fifteen cinematic looks, each tuned per camera: Clean, Cinematic, Luxury, Warm, Cool, black and white and more.
• Finish. Add halation, pro-mist glow, film grain, clarity and edge blur, plus a vignette that follows the frame and letterbox presets.

Camera-accurate from the start

The Color System reads the log profiles we shoot on and the ones you probably do too:

• Sony S-Log3
• Apple Log 2
• Canon C-Log3
• Panasonic V-Log
• Fujifilm F-Log
• Nikon N-Log
• RED Log3G10
• DJI D-Log and D-Log M

Display mapping is hue-preserving, so blues stay blue and skin stays skin. Wide-gamut Rec.2020 libraries are handled automatically. And if you have your own conversion or look LUTs, you can drop them in.

Why we built it

We shoot real estate, brand films, events and hospitality, often on several cameras in one day, and the footage has to match. A drone shot at sunset has to sit next to a cinema camera interior without anyone noticing the cut.

That's what this system does for us. It comes from the grading we use on our own real estate and commercial work, including our Signature listing films, and we wanted every editor on Final Cut Pro to have it.
