Introducing Spearhead Color System
Now on pre-order. Out November 6.
A complete color pipeline for Final Cut Pro, in one effect. For more than a year, our team has been building, testing and refining it, and we've quietly used it on our own projects for months. Today it's available for pre-order.

One effect. Nine stages.
Fifteen camera log profiles. Thirty-five creative looks. Nine stages that run in the same order every time. Two Macs per serial.
The Spearhead Color System takes log footage to a finished grade without leaving Final Cut Pro. Camera conversion, white balance, exposure, color wheels, the look and film finishing are each a numbered section of one effect, and they always run in that order. That is the point: the look always lands on a clean, well-exposed picture, so it holds up from one shot to the next. We built it for our own real estate, event, wedding and brand work first, and our team grades every project with it.
Finished like film

A solar field in the desert, graded with the Festival · Rust look, then finished in the same effect: Pro-Mist Glow, a touch of halation, a vignette, Edge Blur and Lens Fringing for the feel of an older lens, and film grain. The finishing tools are the last few sliders of the same effect, not a second plugin and not a trip to another app.
Scopes left. One effect right.

A DJI drone shot at dusk over the Grand Canyon Skywalk. The camera is set to D-Log, exposure comes up, highlights and deep shadows come down, Clip Protect holds the sky, and the Cine · Coastline look goes on top. Every control sits in Final Cut's own inspector, with the scopes open beside the picture.
35 looks. You set the strength.

Estate · Daylight at full strength on a waterfront home, with the waveform open beside it. The looks come in seven groups:
- Estate for homes, interiors and architecture, including our house look, Estate · Spearhead: warm skin and teal-leaning skies.
- Cine for cinematic grades.
- Wedding for soft, flattering skin.
- Festival for events, concerts and crowds.
- Film for analog character.
- Pop for bright, saturated social work.
- Mono for black and white.
Dial any look from 0 to 100% with Look Intensity, or bring your own look LUTs.
Grade on the picture

Lift, Gamma, Gain and Offset, in Resolve's order, as wheels right on the image. Drag a puck for color and the bar for brightness, and reset any wheel on its own. White balance works in real scene light, with a target you drop on something neutral, and exposure is in real stops, with Peak Highlights for windows and skies. The wheels stay in the viewer and never reach your export.
Every camera, matched

Fifteen log profiles plus Rec.709, each converted with its maker's own published math, then matched on one tone curve, so a Sony and a drone shot of the same house land on the same picture: Apple Log, Arri LogC3, Blackmagic, Canon C-Log 3, DJI D-Log and D-Log M, Fujifilm F-Log, GoPro, Nikon N-Log, Panasonic V-Log, RED Log3G10 and Sony S-Log3. Bring your own conversion LUTs too.
And more
- 11 built-in presets for Sony S-Log3, DJI D-Log and D-Log M, and your own presets saved and shared with your team.
- Your own LUTs, as conversions or looks.
- Free updates, installed from inside the app.
- One serial, two Macs, and once it's activated it works offline.
